I was talking to my husband about this readathon and he decided to jump in and participate too. It will be his first readathon! I’ll list the challenges and the book I chose to meet the challenge as well as the book my hubby chose.

I started by browsing the graphic novel listings on our library website and made choices from there. My husband started with a list on Goodreads and then tried to see if our library happened to have what caught his eye. In total we ended up ordering 37 books between the two of us. We waited to see how many arrived before making a final decision for our TBRs.

The hardest category for both of us was number 5, Read a graphic that takes place in another country. We did end up with a choice for each category though. Here are the ones we chose.

1. Begin a new series

Me:  Y: The Last Man. Book 1, Unmanned by Brian K Vaughan

Hubby: Suicide Squad Volume 1, Kicked in the Teeth by Adam Glass

2. Read a graphic over 200 pages

Hubby: Alice in Sunderland by Bryan Talbot

Wow! That feels like quite a list. We did hold on to some extra books from the library in case we need to make any last minute changes to our reading. As it stands though I have 1609 pages to read the week of the readathon and the hubby has 2090 pages. I wish us both luck.

I’m so looking forward to sharing a readathon with him. He reads, but only in spurts. He will pick up a book and finish it in one sitting no matter how long it takes. Or he might binge a whole series in a week or just a few days, but then he won’t read for six months or a year. We already had fun planning TBRs together so I hope we both enjoy the readathon and the books we’ve chosen.

I am most looking forward to reading Husbands and hubby is most looking forward to reading Death Note.

Are you participating in the Get Graphic With It Readathon? Have you read any of our choices?
