Today I am doing the Finished the Book Book Tag originally created by Headless Books on Youtube. Here are the questions.
1) Do you keep a list of the books you have read?
Yes. I keep a Goodreads account and a bookish bullet journal with a list of the books I have read. Unfortunately I only started both of those things in 2017 so I have no records of books I read before that.
2) If you record stats, what stats do you record?
I only write down title, author, the date I started reading the book, the date I finished the book, and my star rating.
3) Do you give star ratings for books and if so, what do you score books out of and how do you come about this score?
I give my books a rating from 1-5 stars and I use the Goodreads definitions for star ratings. After I finish a book I look at the star rating definitions and choose a rating based on my gut instinct. Star ratings: 1 = did not like it, 2 = it was ok, 3 = liked it, 4 = really liked it, 5 = it was amazing
4) Do you review books?
No. I am afraid of writing a review for some reason. I don’t leave reviews on goodreads and I don’t write reviews for my blog, at least not yet. It is largely fear based on feeling like my opinions aren’t good enough to be read by others.
5) Where do you put your finished books?
If I will reread it the book goes on my must keep shelf of my bookshelf. If i won’t reread it the book goes in the donation box I keep next to the bookshelf.
6) How do you pick your next book?
Either the newest book I bought or the the one that has been on my shelf for the longest. I often have a long list of books to read next.
7) Do you have any other rituals for when you have finished a book?
I rate it on Goodreads, I write it in my bullet journal on the finished reads list and write in the date finished and rating on the books I’m reading spread. I put the bookmark, highlighter, and book away and then begin a new book immediately. I hate not being in the middle of a book.
8) Who do you tag?
No one. But if you want to answer the questions, consider yourself tagged.
Do you write reviews for the books you read or are you scared of writing reviews like I am?
