Dexter meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith in this wildly compulsive debut thriller about a couple whose fifteen-year marriage has finally gotten too interesting…
Our love story is simple. I met a gorgeous woman. We fell in love. We had kids. We moved to the suburbs. We told each other our biggest dreams, and our darkest secrets. And then we got bored.
We look like a normal couple. We’re your neighbors, the parents of your kid’s friend, the acquaintances you keep meaning to get dinner with.
We all have secrets to keeping a marriage alive.
Ours just happens to be getting away with murder.
The description feels a little misleading. Boredom is not quite how the whole murder thing got started. But maybe that doesn’t matter.
I read this book on my phone when I finished my other ebooks for the month early. I’ve been having more eye issues and it is much easier for me to read ebooks than print books at the moment.
I don’t read thrillers often. This one kept me engaged until the very end. I spotted some twists and didn’t spot others. To be honest, once we figured out how terrifying his lovely wife was I couldn’t stop reading because I was too scared too not finish the book. Even after I finished reading it I was too scared to sleep for hours afterward even though it was far past my usual bedtime.
