Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I am currently in the middle of 6 books and I hope to finish them all by the end of the year. I hope to read other books before the end of the year too. The book I’m most hoping to finish is The Adventure’s of the Stainless Steel Rat by Harry Harrison. I’ve been slowly working on it for a few months. It was a book my late husband loved and one I’ve read and loved previously too, but the edition I have is very old and has teeny tiny print. I just can’t do it with my eyes right now. I really want to try to finish it though.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

None that I can think of. I don’t think I read seasonally. I read whatever, whenever. Do you have a suggestion for this prompt?

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

There are no more books I’m waiting on. The only two I was excited about were The Institute by Stephen King and The Testaments by Margaret Atwood and they have both been released and read.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman is the last Backman book I have to read.

House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski is one that is very intimidating to me, but I would love to read it. I may push that off until the new year though because I think it’s going to take a lot of brain power.

The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace is another book I want to read.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I’m not sure if I’ll get to these books by the end of the year, but a couple of contenders would be A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara or A Ladder to the Sky by John Boyne.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?

Definitely. I’m looking for a big reading challenge to participate in. Maybe the Pop Sugar or the Read Harder challenge. I also have some goals involving reading more big books and reading more of the books I’ve owned the longest. There will be a full 2020 goals post out at the beginning January most likely.

Are you working on your reading plans for next year?
