My Bookish Week – November 23

This week I finished one book I was in the middle of and started and finished one other book. Tangerine by Christine Mangan ✰3✰ and  The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace ✰5✰

I also started reading one new book. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I am 54% done on my kindle. I was also actively reading The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby and am on page 77/132.

After I finish those two I will likely begin reading The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware and The Hot Young Widows Club by Nora McInerny. Ideally I would also like to get back to  Deep Work  by Cal Newport, but I’m not sure if I will or not.

It’s going to be a hard week emotion wise. Thanksgiving was my late husband’s favorite holiday and he loved cooking the big meal for our families. I’m nervous about how this day will go. Our first major holiday since his death.

This past week however, was wonderful. I haven’t said that about any week since my husband was diagnosed back in January. This week a book club I am in on Facebook started sharing our Amazon wishlists for sending Christmas surprises and I was gifted 5 new books. I am in awe of these blessings and feel so loved and warm and cared for. I’m trying to hold on to those feelings to get through this next week of uncertainty.
