How I read Tag

I saw this tag on Elise Pages youtube channel. There was one question that was booktube specific and I just changed it for blogging.

1. How do you find out about new books to read?

Mostly on Booktube, but also on Instagram, at the library, and of course on book blogs too.

2. How did you get into reading?

I’ve been in to reading since I could do so on my own at not quite three years old. I started reading and pretty much never stopped. It’s been my favorite hobby every since.

3. How has your taste in books changed as you’ve gotten older?

My reading has always been very eclectic. I read most anything though I don’t often read fantasy, because it feels like more work than any other genre. I think I read the same variety of books I always have.

4. How often do you buy books?

As often as I possibly can. They are my happy thing, my happy place, the things that bring me the most joy and I’ve been really short on joy this past year with my husband’s death. I’ve attempted to compensate by buying a ridiculous number of books. I’m working on that.

5. How did you get into Book Blogging?

I always wanted to talk to other people about the books I’m reading, but I’m too shy and self conscious and awkward to do youtube videos. I also like to write so here I am. I decided to just write one post and after I did that I just kept going. Three times a week minimum for almost a year and a half and I love it! It ebbs and flows with how complicated or fun my posts are depending on whatever else is going on my life, but I show up at least three times a week and I’m glad I do.

6. How do you react when you don’t like the end of a book?

I get mad, give the book away as quickly as possible, and vow (at least in that moment) to never read a book by that author ever again).

7. How often do you take a “sneak peak” at the end of a book to see if there is a happy ending?

Never. Not even once. Why would you do this? Explain yourself please.

  1. Great answers. I don’t peek at the endings either I don’t want to ruin it for myself. I got caught up on your posts I’ve missed. I knew there were a few, but I was amazed at how many there ended up being lol. Wishing you and Pepper a good holiday however you get through it. Keep up the great work 🙂

  2. I too have been reading since I was young. Being much older, I started with Edgar Allen Poe. I even wrote a story when a teenager but never followed through with it. Same with other stories I wrote. I also wrote poetry. I like all types of reading but my favorite are Debbie Macomber books. She did the Cedar cove series on Hallmark. She writes a variety with romance mystery etc. When I start reading some of hers I can’t put them down. They are a great escape.

  3. Ha! I’ve never understood why people peek at the endings either, but my sister used to do it all the time. She said she always liked to know how a book turned out before she started it – weird! 😀
