December Haul Revisit for 2017 and 2018

In December 2017 I only acquired 4 books. There are still 2 that I haven’t read yet.

  1. Blood Rites by Jim Butcher
  2. Dead Beat by Jim Butcher

In December 2018 I acquired 12 books. I have read 2 of them, started 2 of them, and not opened 8 of them. Not great odds. The books I haven’t read yet are

  1. An Adventure…That’s for Sure by Donna Wood
  2. My Brother, My Sister: Story of a Transformation by Molly Haskell
  3. Sane New World by Ruby Wax
  4. The Made Up Words Project by Rinee Shah
  5. Monsterland Reanimated by Michael Okon
  6. Pokergeist by Michael Phillip Cash
  7. The History Major by Michael Phillip Cash
  8. Real Vampires Know Hips Happen by Gerry Bartlett

Normally with this revisiting project I choose at least one per year to add to my TBR for the current month, but I don’t think I’ll do that this time. I have so many new books I want to read and enjoy that I just don’t want to add any of these to my to do list right now. I may pick one up anyway, but I’m not going to try and force myself to do so. In the new year I’m going to come up with a better way to lessen my physical TBR, but I’m not going to worry about that just yet.  If nothing else, this project reminds me of books I was very excited about in years past and it reminds me of how much money I’ve wasted on books I haven’t read yet.

  1. Think of it as book ends that only hold so many books. You have to read and finish one to be able to replace it with a new one. Maybe put them in order by the ones you want to read first. Just a thought. That way you limit yourself to how many books you have at a time and force yourself to read them.
