I hadn’t planned to make a TBR for December, but Pepper (my 4 year old daughter) wanted to do a readathon with me so we made one using her favorite Christmas Song. For our “We Wish You a Merry CHRISTMAS Readathon” we’re simply spelling out the word Christmas with the titles of our books. I’m not sure I’ll read all of these books this month, but here are the books I chose. I’ll add Pepper’s picture book choices to the bottom of this post too, just for fun.
The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher
The Hot Young Widows Club by Nora McInerny
A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf
I Find You in the Darkness by Alfa
A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult
That Which You are Seeking is Causing You to Seek by Cheri Huber
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
The books Pepper chose are:
- Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr
- How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? by Jane Yolen
- Riding Champion by L. L. Hitchcock
- Ice Cream Everywhere! by Marjorie Blain Parker
- Strawberry Shortcake Sleeps Over by Siobhan Ciminera
- Talent-Show Pups by Sierra Harimann
- The Mermaid Dives In by Sheila Sweeny Higginson
- The Art Lesson by Tomie dePaola
- The Sweetest Cupcake by Mary Tillworth
She read all of hers in one day. She really should have chosen at least a few chapter books, but even though she’s reading at about a third grade level as far as reading ability and comprehension the size of the books usually intimidate her. She had fun anyway.
What are you reading in December?
That is such a cool idea!

I just finished City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert. Iām making an attempt at an audiobook to be able to stand the treadmill time. Today was the first day of Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee. I need to find some more for the month though. š
